Synergetics Awarded GSA Contract

Synergetics has been awarded a contract with GSA (U.S. General Services Administration) to provide IT services from the Government's purchasing schedule. Synergetics is now capable of contracting directly with any government purchasing agent for skills ranging from IT Management, programming, and system administration to documentation support.

Synergetics Teams with Microsoft and Compaq on Terabyte DB Project

Synergetics is working with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Microsoft, Compaq Computer, and ESRI on a "Lighthouse: application. This is a high visibility project being one of just three Microsoft Lighthouse showcase projects world-wide. The project utilizes Windows 2000 scalable multi-tier architecture, COM+ development, and SQL Server 7.0 on high-volume "TerraServer" quality hardware from Compaq to provide tabular, spatial, and image data to its customers. Applications will allow USDA Service Centers to select an area of interest from a map and choose GIS data layers to be sent electronically (or by Cd_ROM) for use in servcing USDA customers. Public access to soils properties and interpretations will also be provided in a visual and spatial format using ESRI GIS products.
